Travelogue: Bali 2015

17 November 2015

Finally going for a long awaited holiday! It's been a year since I went for my last holiday. I know my job allows me to travel every now and then but nope, work trips don't count!

This is my third time to Bali and I still love every part of this island. I want to go back to Bali every year!

Day 1

Finally got on our uber ride! We ubered all the way in Bali and it was EXTREMELY affordable

After an hour's drive we arrived at our resort: Echo Beach Resort. Decided to stay at Canggu area this time round. And it's a walkable distance to Echo beach too.

Our room came with a small private pool which we did not use at all because there was construction going on out right outside and you'll find the workers staring right at you. Such a disappointment because it felt like we had zero privacy.

This huge bathtub here is pretty awesome, we used it on our first night. But, the amount of water needed to fill it up got me sooo guilty so once was enough.

There was also an outdoor rain shower, but the position of it was not appropriate. If we were to use it in the day, it is exposed to the workers working nearby once again. I guess this resort was perfect before the new resort started constructing.

Settled down a little before heading out for lunch!

Nook
Lunch with a paddy field view? Yes please!

Every part of this cafe seems so whimsical!

Using samsung Nx Mini for all my pics!

Seminyak Beach
Perfect place to catch the sunset

Day 2

LOL at the number of shades I brought.

After breakfast we had a dip in the pool!

Wanted to take some self timer shots but failed badly LOLOL

Tengalalang Rice Terraces

Lunch with a view!

Such a pretty rice terrace! We didn't expect that a little trekking is needed. Pretty tiring!!

What a view!

There were stops here and there and the locals there sort of "forced" us to contribute some donations. So prepare some small notes if you're heading there. I read online that it's actually not compulsory to give to every station but the locals were quite persistent :/

Pomegranate
This cafe was located quite deep inside where no cars are able to access (Only motorcycles). So we had to walk for around 20 mins before reaching here!

It was really hot when we were there so we didn't take the seats on the floor (best seats for sunset)

And when the sun was setting, all the floor seats were taken!!! Roarrr!!! Such a pity

Borrowed a seat for a photo spot nonetheless hahaha #shameless

Chasing sunsets

Day 3

We woke up around 1.30am to prepare for our Mount Batur hike. Last year when I went to Bali with Pk and Jane, they wanted to hike up the Mt Batur and I was super against it! And so they did it without me. Come this year, I suddenly feel like I should do it at least once in my life! People do change, don't they. Hahaha

They hike was craaaazy. Thank goodness our group only consist of me and Qf so the guide could give us (or rather me) his 100% attention. He was super helpful! He carried my bag for me and held my hand 80% of the hike. He saved my life sooo many times! Literally!! I was so weak we had to take so many rests thanks to me hahaha. But thank goodness we managed to reach the peak!

The view at the top of Mount Batur

Our shoes were soooo dirty

Can't believe we did it!!

Thank you for doing this with me :)

That was supposed to be a heart shape hahaha

Our guide prepared some breakfast for us

Wild monkeys! They were super greedy

And comes the next part; Hiking down, which was equally challenging. I can't stop sliding!

This walking stick was included in our tour package. It was quite useful! We saw most people using tree branches and I think ours was alot more sturdy haha (duh)

Almost done with our hike!!! By this time my bladder was bursting. For guys they can just find a random bush to do their business but I just can't do it!

A picture with our guide! No idea why i look so extremely white here hahaha

On the ride back we drove pass the mountain. I looked at it and felt the sense of achievement. Never have I thought that I can hike a mountain, and I did it! But honestly if you ask me if I will do it again, the answer is no! It's worth it but I guess once is enough hahaha

Back at the resort we took a short nap before heading out for dinner. Walked to Echo beach to check it out

Love these pictures! The sun was just perfect

Had a drink and watched the sunset at one of the bars

Once again, amazing sunset!!!

Dinner at an Italian restaurant!

Wood fire pizza is da bombbbbb
It was a really nice alfresco dining experience until a cat jumped up to the seat beside me. Traumatized me!! So we decided to leave to another cafe for desserts.

Day 4

Today we're visiting Nusa Lembongan!

Took a fast boat over from Sanur terminal.

Hired a taxi driver there and he took us to the devil's tears.

We were sooo disappointed because there wasn't any wave moment at all!! This is not what I saw online!!!!!!

Proceeded to dream beach, which was a short 5 min walk away

Went back to the devils tears a few hours later and finally, we saw some waves!

The Bf was angry over the whole Lembongan episode. He thought it was overrated and a waste of money to come here. So no pics of him at all hahahaha

Back at Bali main island in the evening!

Wacko Burger

Omg just look at this!!!

It was super good!

Day 5

Our last day in Blai :(

Visited the Uluwatu Temple. When we arrived there, a local guy greeted us and told us he would show us around and protect us from the aggressive monkeys around. LOL so we accepted his offer. I think we had to pay him like USD 10 bucks.

Not too bad since there is someone to take pictures for us.

The view was amazing!!!

Naughty monkeys!!! Saw them stole people's sunglasses and hats when!

Took a cab to Rimba Jimbaran since we were around the area. Wanted to visit the rock bar but didn't know they only open at 4!

So we had lunch at one of their restaurants there first.

The view was amazingggg. Hope I get to stay here one day *hint hint* LOL

My truffle risotto!! Yums!

Rock Bar

And we had to leave before sunset because we had a flight to catch!

On our way to the airport, we got our uber driver to stop us at this local shop which sells Mee Bakso. Qf has been wanting to try a bowl of this since the trip started (He couldn't stop repeating Mee Bakso in my ears lolol). So I asked the driver to recommend us a stall! It was good!

And it's the end of our trip :(

See you again soon, Bali!!!

I also did an amateur attempt at vlogging this trip, just for fun! Check it out!
