Workcation: St Emilion + Mt Fuji

16 March 2016

Had the chance to fly with Chrystal and we had so much fun for that one week!!! One of my best patterns :)

On touchdown day we took a nap and had brunch at Ginza West Aoyama Garden. The pancakes here were all over fb so we decided to try it out! There was a queue and we had to wait for about 30-45 min before we got a table!

We ordered a few items to share. The tea came in such small cups and we were shocked because it costs like almost 1000 yen each! Luckily we realized that it was refillable after seeing some people requesting for it. hahahhaha

These are the pancakes! Looking super good! It has a really thick texture and feels more like a cake rather than a pancake actually! Super filling we weren't able to finish it

Since their souffle is one of the recommended items we decided to order it too. Had to wait for 15 mins for this! Pretty good!

Overall the food was not too bad but it's really pricey!

2 days later, on our clear day in Paris, we decided to go out of Paris to Bordeaux, the land of wine! Super excited man! We booked a last minute tour the night before. Unfortunately, the tour got cancelled when were on the train there -.-! But it's okay, we still had a good time on our self tour there!

We were late for the train but thank goodness it was delayed. Lucky us

4 hrs ride there!

From Bordeaux, we took another train to St Emilion, a small town in Bordeaux!

It was really quiet and peaceful, with vineyards EVERYWHERE!!!

We took a 40 min walk and reached the "town" center of St Emilion

Just look at this view

It was difficult to find a Grand Cru which offers last minute English tours but thankfully we found 1!

Since the staff were having a meeting we were told to wait for about 30 min, which was totally fine! Went around to take some pictures heh

And here goes our tour! Look at these barrels and barrels of wine

We also had some wine tasting at the end of the tour

Really loved the whole vibes of St Emilion! It is sooo quiet with a population of only 200+ people. Such a wonderful experience!

Dinner at Bordeaux before catching our train back to Paris.

The next afternoon, we had brunch at Eggs and Co before our flight back to Paris

Food was REALLY good!!!

Back in TOKYO!

Look at the crazy crowd at Shibuya's most famous crossing

Next morning, on our clear day in Tokyo, we decided to go to Mt Fuji! Initial plan was to do paragliding but the unpredictable weather got us feeling cheated. It was all cloudy, rainy and super cold when we finally arrived after a 3 hours bus ride.

PLUS, I stupidly left my phone in the bus. ZZZ Thank goodness I got it back! Had to wait for 2 hours before the bus drove back so we decided to head for lunch first.

Teppanyaki! The staff was so nice! We wanted to have garlic fried rice instead of white rice which comes with the dish and he changed it for us without any extra charges!

Mt fuji ice cream, how cute!

The rain stopped but it was still cloudy :(. We decided to go ahead for the Mt Kachi Kachi ropeway since we were already there.

Spot the hidden Mt Fuji

Left too late and missed the last boat ride which we already paid for. MEHHHH. Randomly too the shuttle bus to this park.

It was FREEZING but for photo sake I took off my coat

So pretttyyyyyyyy

I love lakes like this!

A random abandoned boat

After that, we decided to go for an onsen session since it was highly raved especially up in the mountains. We are both really shy people so we promised to not look at each other LOLOL. So the entire time we were back facing each other and taking turns getting in and out of the onsen HAHA. The hotel that we went to also has a outdoor one which was really SHIOK and life changing!!

And the next day was our flight back to Singapore. The pattern that zoomed past the fastest! Enjoyed every moment of it. Hopefully there's more of such flights!
